A Kimberley curler is representing British Columbia at the National Under 18 Curling Championships.
Kaila Buchy and a team of curlers from Vernon head to St. Andrews, New Brunswick ranked fifth out of 14 teams.
Buchy says this is the biggest tournament she’s ever been a part of.
“It’s a huge accomplishment for me just because I’ve worked for [this] for probably four years now.” says Buchy. “I’ll always remember [this], I’ll never forget it.”
Buchy says they’re excited to go up against some of Canada’s best young curlers.
“We all just need to play our best and see what happens.” says Buchy. “All the other teams are going to be really good and hard to beat too so if we play like we can then I know we can win games.”
The U-18 team won the provincial title in Salmon Arm on March 18.
The girls open the national championship Monday against Team Saskatchewan.
