A Kimberley curler is calling her experience at the U-18 National Championship the best moment of her young career.
Kaila Buchy represented Team BC with a team from Vernon last week.
Buchy says it was a surreal feeling to compete against some of Canada’s best young curlers.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet that I’m [part of] Team BC and it’ll take time for that.” says Buchy. “It means a lot that I’m able to make it to something like that.”
It’s the first time the Kimberley native has curled at the national level.
“It was really cool to be able to travel across Canada for curling and meet a lot of new people and compete at a higher level.” says Buchy. “I had a lot of fun and definitely hope to go to something like that again in the future.”
Team BC finished 5th with four wins and five losses overall.
