Kimberley residents are urged to pitch in for Operation Clean Sweep.
The yearly program encourages schools, businesses and local groups to clean up garbage and recycling left along roadsides or around town for Pitch-In Week.
Parks and Facilities Manager Brett Clark says the annual event has been going on for years.
“Its a national program coast to coast to coast across Canada,” Clark says. “Many organizations pitch in and help out. We’ve actually had 25 groups already register for Kimberley. Its an amazing opportunity.”
Clark says its not hard for residents to do their part.
“It can go from kids right up to adults to have everybody pitching in and take pride in the community,” Clark says. “Its a great community initiative that brings everybody all together.”
Operation Clean Sweep is happening all week long.
You can register by calling the city’s Operations Department.
