A woman who went on a racially charged rant in a Lethbridge restaurant at the center of a viral video online is from Cranbrook.
Kelly Pocha was recorded yelling explicitly at a group of men April 21st.
Pocha can be heard telling the men to go back to their country numerous times.
In an interview with LethbridgeNewsNow, Pocha apologized for her actions but claims the video does not show the full story.
“Things were said back and forth, they were speaking in their language looking right at me laughing, things I couldn’t understand what they were saying.” claims Pocha. “They did say a few things to me in English that weren’t very nice and then I got extremely heated and that’s basically when they hit record.”
The video has been shared over one million times on Facebook.
“My reaction back, what you’re seeing, was a direct result of things that were said to me.” says Pocha.
Cranbrook Dodge posted on their Facebook page Wednesday, saying they were deeply concerned about the content of a video involving one of their employees.
They went on to say the employee in question has been terminated and apologized for her actions.
