The Regional District of East Kootenay is hosting a meeting Saturday afternoon on the preservation of the Moyie Narrows.
Representatives from Transport Canada, Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and East Kootenay MLA Tom Shypitka will be there to answer questions.
RDEK Planning and Development Services Manager Andrew McLeod says the meeting will be very informative.”We’re sharing information with the public so that everyone is on the same page, understating what each level of government and each government agency is and is not responsible for, understanding the range of options available for use and preservation of the narrows.
McLeod adds “there’s been a lot of interest and concerns raised about environmental values in the narrows and making sure those values are protected and preserved.”
Those in attendance will be able to ask questions after the information is presented.
It goes from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Eagles Nest RV Resort Hall.
