The Regional District of East Kootenay has approved funds for 156 projects through a Columbia Basin Trust initiative.
The RDEK will disperse over 1-million dollars through the CBT’s Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs.
Some of the bigger grants include over $38,000 for the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary for renovations to its thrift store and $18,000 for the Trails Society of BC for invasive weed management.
RDEK chair Rob Gay says the funds allow them to tackle a number of community-based pojects.
