Invermere is one of 18 communities receiving a major grant from the BikeBC program.
The Province announced Wednesday they are investing over $6.11 million into projects across the province, including $299,787 for the District of Invermere’s Westside Legacy Trail connector.
The 25 kilometre Columbia Valley trail was expected to cost around $5 million to complete.
The paved path would stretch between Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs.
It had previously received a combined 750 thousand dollars from the BC Rural Dividend and Columbia Basin Trust back in March.
