A teacher at Cranbrook’s Mount Baker Secondary is receiving national recognition.
Jo-Anna LeGrandeur is one of 21 teachers from across the country this year to receive a Certificate of Achievement through the Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence.
The program honours exceptional teachers of all disciplines, with over 1,500 people honoured since 1993.
LeGrandeur was acknowledged for her work with Mount Baker’s Psychology Program.
She was also recognized for bringing teachers together from several schools to help students as they move into high school.
An additional ten teachers were presented with Certificates of Excellence.
