A new, permanent guest is landing at Cranbrook’s Canadian Rockies International Airport tomorrow.
This as WestJet’s initial flight to our region touches down just after 11:00 am.
Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce executive director David Hull says the service will be great for the community.
“This service is really going to open up a lot of opportunities, especially for the business traveler. With the flights with WestJet some go early in the morning and some as late as 11:00 pm.”
Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce executive director Mike Gaurnery says the new service opens the gates to the East Kootenay for the rest of Canada.
“When you can be 30 minutes from an airport to a ski hill, that’s a big draw.”
An event at the airport to welcome WestJet begins at 10:30 am.
