The city has awarded a contract to Swan Roofing Consulting to work on the two facility’s roofs.
Mayor Mary Giuliano says both roofs are ageing.
“Both of them have wearing of the product that’s covering it that needed replacement. This was work that was in the 5-year plan, so its just regular maintenance being done.”
The Memorial Arena roof fixes bear a 318-thousand dollar price tag while the Curling Club upgrades cost 260-thousand dollars.
Giuliano says both facilities are expected to be fully open and operational by September.
The Memorial Arena has been closed since last year’s deadly ammonia leak.
