The Elk Valley & South Country Rural Fire & Rescue Service says a building is a total loss after an overnight fire at the Elko Airport.
The abandoned building was fully involved when crews arrived.
Eighteen firefighters responded to the call and some members stayed overnight to monitor hot spots.
The cause of the blaze appears suspicious and an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile fire chief Dave Boreen says staff and campers at Aye’s Ranch Campground near Jaffray helped them control a wildfire yesterday around 6:20 pm.
The fire started after a portable generator failed.
Boreen says “the campground had done some preparedness planning and staff and campers did a good job of controlling the fire until they arrived on scene.”
Nobody was injured.
Eight firefighters responded to that call.
