Julyfest has arrived.
Festivities begin today in Kimberley.
Coordinator Karen Rempel says the event will have plenty of options for foodies as well as events for youngsters.
“We have more food vendors and vendors coming, so there’ll be delicious food for everyone to eat, and then we have our Julyfest kidsfest zone. We have bouncy castles, the fire department’s there, we have face painting. Lots of stuff for the children to do.”
Some of the old favourites will be back such as the bocce and soccer tournaments.
Rempel says people are liking the event’s new location at Centennial Ball Park after moving from Rotary Park.
“I hear that because there’s a lot more space, people are actually coming back to Julyfest. They love the wide, open space. It’s safe for everybody, it’s good for children, everyone can walk around.”
Opening ceremonies for the 45th annual event happen this afternoon.
Julyfest wraps up on Sunday.
