The BC Wildfire Service says the St. Mary River fire in Wycliffe is 100% contained and is classified as “under control”.
The fire, which sparked Thursday afternoon, is suspected to be human-caused.
It forced five properties to be evacuated, three remained evacuated until Friday and it destroyed one home.
Ten BC Wildfire Service members were on-site today patrolling the sprinkler system set up for the 6.7 hectare blaze.
A smaller 0.01 hectare fire is burning at Cranbrook Community Forest and is believed to be human-caused as well.
