Is the City of Kimberley going to the dogs?
A recent report from Animal Control to city council warns dogs off leash continue to be an ongoing issue.
Bylaw officers received seven complaints in June about dogs wandering off leash in the community.
Warnings were issued, with the report saying pet owners are open to the reasons why rules around leashes are a necessary part of local bylaws.
Dogs weren’t the only animals that had to be dealt with last month.
Bylaw officers also received reports of a ferret attempting to enter a house, a crow getting inside a local residence and a family of skunks wandering Knighton Boulevard.
The Animal Control Enforcement Officer also said deer with fawn continued to be a problem, with 13 issues investigated last month
Ten “Deer and Fawn” warning signs were also placed around town.
