Yesterday’s lighting sparked a few wildfires in our region.
The BC Wildfire Service says the biggest one is north of Radium Hot Springs by Whitetail Lake, it’s estimated to be burning at 123 hectares.
Lighting is also believed to be responsible for a blaze west of Invermere by Horsethief Creek as well as the Mud Creek fire west of Canal Flats.
Both of those wildfires are estimated to be under 1 hectare in size.
The BC Wildfire Service is also reporting a small fire near Sand Creek east of Jaffray which is believed to be human-caused.
It’s also less than 1 hectare in size.
