Parks Canada has announced further area closures in Kootenay National Park due to ongoing wildfires.
The new areas include trails, day-use areas and backcountry areas in the Rockwall Trail South of Tumbling Pass and Hawk Creek to Simpson River.
Parks Canada has also issued an evaucation order for the Kootenay Park Lodge due to the nearby wildfires.
The closures are in effect until further notice.
Violators may be charged under the National Park General Regulations up to a maximum fine of $25,000.
