Columbia Basin Trust funding will boost outdoor programming for Cranbrook’s Boys and Girls Club.
Executive director Lori McNeill says a $25,000 CBT social grant will support their Wildwood program.
“It’s an outdoor adventure program after school for kids ages 5-12. It’s a new program that we’re starting up this fall. The program essentially will run fully outdoors.”
McNeill says the funds will help them secure equipment for the after school program.
“It will help bring new equipment, opportunities for the kids to engage with other organizations in town to do some more environmental learning. It will also help support overall opportunities that will be coming fup for kids in that program.”
The program is meant to encourage healthy lifestyles and outdoor play.
The grant is part of the CBT’s $964,000 investment in social grants for its 2018 intake.
