Highway 93 is still closed between Radium and the Alberta Border and is unlikely to re-open anytime soon.
The highway was closed this week due to fire activity near the highway in Kootenay National Park.
The 290 hectare Whitetail Creek Fire is 35 percent guarded and only 15 percent contained, with 70 firefighters and seven helicopters working on it.
The Wardle Complex wildfire in Kootenay National Park is now estimated at 1,000 hectares.
Drive BC says there is currently no estimated time of opening and does not expect any updates on the closure until Sunday morning.
Alternate routes are available using Highway 95 and Highway 1 through Golden.
A travel advisory is in effect for that route due to traffic volume.
Commuters are advised to use caution.
