Six tourism-based organizations in the Kootenay Rockies regions are getting funds to help with various marketing initiatives.
This as Destination BC has announced its recipients of its Co-op Marketing Partnerships Program for its 2018/19 intake.
Program manager Kim Hood says many of the organizations receiving funds are made up of a colaberative group of local communities.
“We ask communities to partner with other communities based on a common set of marketing objectives, and we provide parameters around what are eligible tactics, and we leave it up to the communities to decide what projects they want to pursue.”
Hood says that leaves a lot of options for what the funds can help with
“Social media campaigns, generating content assets. [That means] if they’ve identified that there’s a need for new or updated photography. If they want written content, so content for blogs. They can also do written guides.”
The six local groups will receive over $195,000 in combined funds.
