A Kimberley man’s cross-nation bike ride has made it to Ontario.
Dave Podmoroff checked in with us before hitting the road from Thunder Bay.
His Men Matter Coast 2 Coast initative continues to pick up steam.
He says he had an emotional experience visiting an important monument in Thunder Bay.
“A lot of people are in awe of what I’m doing, it’s very humbling, I don’t think of it as a real big deal, I guess. I stopped east of Thunder Bay a couple days ago at the Terry Fox statue, and man, that was pretty powerful.”
He began his quest July 7 in Vancovuer.
He says Ontario provides terrain challenges similar to what he faced in BC.
“I know it’s not going to be the Coquihalla, but out here there are some 7%, 8% grade hills that kind of really put me back yesterday. I said I had pushed my bike up some of the Coquihalla hills and I’ll admit I’ve done it here too.
Podmoroff is riding his bike across Canada to raise funds and awareness for Testicular Cancer Canada and other mental health causes.
He says he’s raised about 26% of his $10,000 funding goal.
