Evacuation orders and alerts are in place for areas across the East Kootenay as wildfire activity increased over the weekend.
Nine properties outside of Radium including Nipika Mountain Resort are on evacuation order due to the Cross River wildfire which covers 2,700 hectares.
Evacuation orders are also in place for 10 properties in the Corbin Road area near Sparwood because of the 30 hectare Leach Creek blaze.
Separate wildfires outside of Kimberley have prompted evacuation alerts for over 150 properties.
121 properties are on evacuation alert in the Ta Ta Creek area due to a cluster of wildfires.
65 properties in Area E by the St. Mary Valley are also on alert due to the Meachen Creek Blaze, which is around 1000 hectares in size.
A lightning caused fire on the US border has also prompted an evacuation alert for one property near Yahk.
The Randal Creek Fire currently covers 865 hectares on the Canadian side of the border.
The area is well used by campers and recreationalists, covering portions of the America Creek Forest Service Road, Yahk Meadow Creek Road, Cold Creek Forest Service Road and portions of Hawkins Creek, South Hawkins Creek and Freeman Creek.
