A new Saturday flight between Cranbrook and Kelowna will link the two communities seven days a week.
Pacific Coastal Airlines announced Wednesday a new Saturday flight between the Kootenays and the Okanagan.
This adds on to their current service, giving residents the opportunity to travel between the two cities by plane any day of the week.
In a release, Pacific Coastal Airlines Director of Business Development and Corporate Communications Kevin Boothroyd praised the service, calling it very successful.
“We launched this connection in recognition of the significant business, medical and student travel that exists between the East Kootenay and Okanagan communities and because there was a need for a quick, convenient and affordable alternative to the long drive. This new Saturday flight makes it even more convenient,” Boothroyd said.
Pacific Coastal says it only takes 55 minutes to fly to Kelowna from Cranbrook.
Compare that to the drive through the Kootenay Pass, which can take over six hours.
The new flight begins Saturday, September 8th.
