Kimberley RCMP says they couldn’t have asked for a better ending in the search for Cranbrook’s Louise Baxter.
The 52 year old woman had been missing since Sunday when she failed to return from a short walk in Jumbo Pass.
Sergeant Chris Newel says she was found after three days of searching.
“Helicopter was brought in about 6’o’clock last night. By the time we actually were able to assess her, it was closer to 7 pm,” Newel says. “She was in great health, she had spent 72 hours out there. She was able to apparently find some water. She was walking and talking and very emotional with the family of course.”
Newel thanked all the teams involved in the search, with 35 volunteers involved from SAR teams from as far away as Nelson and Kaslo.
Three helicopters, four search dogs and a drone were also put to use.
