A grizzly bear has been reported on the outskirts of Cranbrook.
WildSafeBC Kimberley-Cranbrook says the animal was spotted recently in the area of the Cranbrook Golf Club.
WildSafeBC is reminding residents that grizzly bears largely eat vegetation, but can be extremely powerful and formidable hunters.
They advise residents to keep garbage secured and indoors until collection days to avoid attracting wildlife.
You should also manage your fruit trees, put away bird feeders and composts and always clean your barbeque after use.
If you spot a bear or other problem wildlife, be sure to call the Conservation Officer Service RAPP Line at 1.877.952.7277 to report a wildlife conflict.
