Structural protection units have been deployed in the St Mary Valley to assess properties and help protect value.
This as an evacuation order for 65 properties in the St. Mary Valley west of Kimberley continues, along with an evacuation alert for the entire city due to the Meachen Creek fire.
Sprinklers have been set up on all properties west of St. Mary Lake.
Crews reported success in initial burn off operations over the weekend to reduce fire fuels between the blaze and the St. Mary Valley.
Further burn off operations were planned Monday but no word yet as to how that went.
The fire continues to burn at nearly 7,000 hectares.
Meanwhile, crews have made progress with containment efforts on the Lost Dog fires north of Kimberley.
The main fire is 90 per cent contained while two smaller fires are in patrol stages.
The evacuation alert for 121 properties in the Ta Ta Creek area is still in place as well as the alert for a single property near Yahk.
The evacuation order for nine properties outside of Radium remains in place.
