WildSafeBC Elk Valley is warning residents to find a different place to dispose of their crab apples.
This after someone dumped the apples earlier this week along 4th Avenue in Fernie.
Community Coordinator Kathy Murray reports the apples could drive bears into the community, where they could search for other food sources.
WildSafe says owning a fruit tree in bear country is a big responsibility.
They say there are options available if you need help harvesting apples, including equipment available from Wildsight.
