Cranbrook and Kimberley SAR were called to action to save man’s best friend this weekend.
The SAR teams received a call of a large black dog stuck on a crumbling cliff side near Wardner Saturday.
Rope teams needed to be called in, but as rescue crews got near the the 150-pound dog, it panicked and would not allow volunteers to help it.
While working on a new plan, the dog’s owner arrived and helped SAR crews get their pet safely up on top of the cliff.
Search and Rescue is thanking residents who called when they heard the animal’s cries for help.
