Cranbrook’s former fire chief is running for city council in October’s municipal election.
Wayne Price has announced his intentions to seek a seat at the council table.
He says his many years of being involved in public service makes him a good fit.
“I feel that my rewards are accomplishment in serving others. I think if I was elected to council that would give me an opportunity to pay back the community. I’ve been extremely fortunate throughout my career.”
Price says his main focuses will be housing, infrastructure and economic development if he’s elected.
“The key topics are housing, infrastructure and economic development. No question, those are priorities for the city, they have been for the past council. It’s something we all believe we have to continue to work forward on.”
He adds he would use his expertise in fire fighting to look into fire prevention measures.
The election happens October 20.
