The Mayor of Cranbrook is looking forward to four more years in office.
Mayor Lee Pratt is the only candidate seeking election in Cranbrook’s mayoral race.
He says he hopes to continue on with new developments in the city and even more road work.
“There’s a lot of irons in the fire right now, the Tembec lands development being a big one, and the council was very supportive on that and we’re looking forward to some good economic development there. And I thank the public for all the support they gave me too”.
He’s also grateful for the support from city staff.
“Without CAO David Kim a lot of that stuff wouldn’t have ever happened. We gave him the direction and he made sure it got implemented. There’s a lot that went on behind the scenes too that the people aren’t aware of. Dealing with the city now is way better than it ever was, in all departments”.
Two other mayors in the East Kootenay also have no competition.
Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher and Radium Mayor Clara Reinhardt will also be acclaimed and will have another four years in office.
