Amendments to two bylaws related to cannabis will be discussed at a public hearing in Sparwood.
This will allow the public to come and discuss the proposals.
Mayor Cal McDougall says one of the items being discussed is a business license bylaw, which will help them to establish a cannabis retail store.
McDougall says the other being discussed is a zoning bylaw for where the outlet can be placed.
“We’re going to go with one retail outlet,” McDougall says. “We’re just not too sure what BC liquor board is going to do as far as government outlets is concerned. We’d thought originally two outlets would be ok, but we’re going to wait and see what the BC liquor control board’s going to do with that bylaw.”
The public hearing is on October 1 at 1 pm at council chambers.
