A Sparwood council candidate wants to keep the District as business friendly as possible.
John Baher has been living in Sparwood for 49 years and is seeking re-election to District council
He feels there’s room to improve Sparwood’s relationship with businesses in the community.
“Looking at ways to maybe reduce red tape so its more inviting for them to come, whether its a tax saving initiative or something along that lines,” Baher says. “Let’s get some new businesses into Sparwood and keep the old ones happy as well.”
Baher also wants to see the Middletown Crossing project complete.
“We want to finish off the Middletown Crossing and get the businesses that have said they are going to build over there to build, that being Teck Coal and Joy Global,” Baher says.
Baher is one of 11 candidates seeking a spot on the six member council.
Residents will cast their ballots October 20th.
