Cranbrook’s mayor was at the former Tembec lands last Thursday to welcome it`s new occupants.
The old mill site will become the home of C&C Wood Products.
The facility and land was purchased by the City of Cranbrook in late August.
They repurposing of the mill is the first project planned for the city’s recently purchased site.
Mayor Lee Pratt says the deal is a terrific opportunity and there will be more to come.
“It’s exciting!” Pratt says. “All along I’ve said this would be an exciting opportunity for Cranbrook. Seeing the first one come into place right now, it’s great to see we’re going in the right direction and good things are gonna come”.
The city plans to have the facility up and running early 2019.
