The Kootenay ICE suffered three close losses this weekend.
The ICE faced the Prince George Cougars for the first and only time this season yesterday, playing to a 1-1 tie after three periods of play.
33 seconds into overtime, Prince George picked up a quick goal, ending the game 2-1.
Coach James Patrick says the effort was there, but the ICE have areas to work on.
“We weren’t able to put one away, obviously we got back in the game,” Patrick says. “I’ll take the point after being down halfway through the third period. I really liked the third period, I thought the guys laid everything out there. They really worked their hardest.”
The ICE also lost 3-2 in regulation to Regina Friday and 4-3 to Medicine Hat in a shootout Saturday.
Kootenay is on the road Tuesday to play Lethbridge.
