Halloween is here, and for Cranbrook trick-or-treators, it’s the end of a “scare-uh”.
This will be the last year of Jason Wheeldon’s Transyvheeldon Haunted House.
It has become a fixture for Key City Halloweens over the past seven years, but Wheeldon is hopeful that the annual Halloween-happening will be hosted elsewhere next year.
“This is our last year, it’s our hope that the tradition will continue in years to come, we are working with a couple of organizations right now, but essentially I think the project has grown bigger than what we can put on ourselves each year.”
Wheeldon says he’s had a lot of help hosting the events since it began.
“We’ve got to really thank our neighbors and our friends, we have a large group of us that work on it each year and of course incredible donations through Sandor Rental who provides us a lot of the equipment,” says Wheeldon. “And we just continually purchase and add new items and create an incredible maze.”
Halloween revelers will be able to get one last look at the haunted house tonight between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
It’s in Wheeldon’s garage on the 600 block of 34th Avenue South.
