The Kimberley Dynamiters are receiving support from the city in their bid to host the Cyclone Taylor Cup.
The Nitros are seeking support from the community to host the British Columbia Provincial Junior B Hockey Championship.
They’ve asked for a letter from City Council endorsing their bid, along with other letters from notable local figures.
Council gave unanimous support to the motion, which Mayor Don McCormick expected to draft a letter for the team.
The Dynamiters are no strangers to the tourney.
They came in third place when it was hosted in Richmond last year.
The Cyclone Taylor will be in Campbell River following the 2018-19 KIJHL season.
