Elk Valley RCMP have released more details on a crash that claimed the life of a Teck employee.
RCMP say they are investigating after a Fernie man died in a vehicle collision Sunday morning.
Just after 1030 a.m. Elk Valley Regional Detachment RCMP officers were called to a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at Teck Coal’s Elkview Mine in Sparwood.
Upon arrival, police learned that a pick up truck had collided with a fully loaded dump truck. The driver of the pick up, a 38-year-old Fernie man, was critically injured and did not survive. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The circumstances which led up to the collision remain under investigation.
The Elk Valley Regional Detachment is continuing to investigate with support from the BC Coroners Service.
