Cranbrook’s annual Turkey Drive is returning.
The Chamber of Commerce is gathering donations on December 6th to support the Salvation Army and the Cranbrook Food Bank Christmas Hamper Program.
The donations are meant to help those who are less fortunate get food for the holiday.
The chamber’s chief turkey chair Jason Wheeldon says the drive’s goal has been raised to $53,000 this year.
“One of the larger fundraisers isn’t taking place anymore,” Wheeldon says. “This is the second year that they are missing out on a large fundraiser. We want to fill that gap and that need. So these two organizations can use their resources so they can do what they do best and deliver to those in our community.”
Residents are invited to fund by phoning or emailing the chamber December 6th with a donation of at least $20.
If you’re busy that day, celebrity pledge collectors will be reaching out in the days leading up to drive to ask for a donation.
