A fundraising campaign for a long time Radium artist has ended much faster than anticipated.
Debbie Fenton started a GoFundMe page to support woodcarver Rolf Heer on Saturday, after his home and business burnt to the ground Friday.
Fenton started the campaign to support Heer, who was also diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Fenton shut down the fundraiser on Sunday though, after Heer asked if she could end the campaign.
In a post on GoFundMe, Fenton says that the wood carver is grateful for everything contributed and that the donations would be given to Rolf sometime this week.
Heer built the Home of a Thousand Faces and did all the wood carvings himself.
The fire Friday closed Highway 93 for several hours. No word on the amount of damages from the incident, but the home and business were entirely destroyed.
