A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Cranbrook last week.
On November 19th, a 62-year-old man was crossing at the intersection of 11th Avenue South and Baker Street when he was hit by a car that did not have the right of way.
Cranbrook RCMP responded to the incident and the driver was issued a ticket.
Constable Katie Forgeron says drivers should take this as a reminder to be more cautious around cross walks.
“Always ensure that crosswalks are clear,” Forgeron says. “There’s nobody running to catch the walk sign. We need to keep people safe out there, especially in the winter. The roads are going to be slippery and we don’t want any accidents happening.”
The victim was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
