The Cranbrook Lions Club is doing it’s part to make Wycliffe Park is more accessible.
Working with the Regional District of East Kootenay and Zombie Woodwork, the Lions constructed four wheel chair accessible outhouses for the park.
The outhouses were put together over a 30-hour period at the former Tembec factory.
Lions Club Director Bob Baird says the new outhouses should be of great benefit to visitors to the park.
“There’s ball diamonds on the picnic area and there’s quite an area out there for hiking,” Baird says. “There’s a group of people that ride horses out in that area that have already commented about how much they appreciate having those washrooms out there.”
Their next project is their annual Seniors Light Up Tour.
