The Kootenay ICE are on the road this weekend with three games on deck south of the border.
They’re in action Friday night in Seattle versus the Thunderbirds.
ICE forward Peyton Krebs says he was seeing some different line pairings in Wednesday’s loss to Moose Jaw to generate more scoring chances.
“I think anytime you can try and spark something quick that might get a goal, you might want to do that,” Krebs says. “I think that’s what he’s trying to do, get some mismatches and try and spark another goal.”
Defender Valtteri Kakkonen says they need to be a little better with their puck control.
“Just manage the puck better, score from our chances and I think we can play against any team in this league,” Kakkonen says. “Now that we have Peyton back and I’m back and we have more guys in our line-up, its going to be better to go on the road trip.
The ICE head into tonight’s game coming off a 3-1 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday.
They will be without forwards Connor McClennon and Cam Hausinger for the road trip, as both are recovering from injuries.
The road trip includes stops in Everett Saturday and Portland Sunday.
