The Fernie Ghostriders are thanking the District of Sparwood for their support over the last month.
The Ghosties have been forced to play away from home as roof repairs have been ongoing at the Fernie Memorial Arena.
Jeff Wagner says it was great to return to the arena last weekend.
“It really gave me a sense of what the team dealt with last year,” Wagner says. “I definitely feel for them, they had to do it for four or five months as opposed to a month.”
Wagner says there are benefits to having access to the home arena once again.
“We don’t have to travel back and forth between Sparwood on a daily basis,” Wagner says. “So its nice to be back in front of our fans and I’m excited to get the latter half of the season.”
Wagner adds it felt great to knock Kimberley off a 12-game winning streak in their return to the Memorial Arena.
The Ghostriders welcome Spokane to Fernie Friday before travelling to Golden Saturday.
