Kimberley Alpine Resort has delayed their opening weekend.
The resort was originally planning to open Saturday, December 8th, one week after Fernie held their opening weekend.
KAR is now planning to open on Saturday, December 15th.
Resort staff says crews have been working hard to get the mountain ready, half a foot of fresh snow has fallen at the ski hill in the last week, and current colder temperatures are creating great snowmaking conditions.
Until Kimberley Alpine Resort opens, season pass holders can ski for free at Fernie Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (opening Friday, December 7th), and Nakiska.
