The Kimberley Dynamiters earned two victories in the KIJHL over the weekend, taking down two Neil Murdoch division opponents.
The Nitros won 4-1 over Nelson Friday before a commanding 13-1 win over Spokane Saturday.
Forward Chase Gedny picked up a hat trick in Saturday’s victory.
“It was kind of a relief, it was my first one. So it felt pretty good and I was pretty happy with it,” Gedny says. “Just getting open and getting in the spot where I can get a puck on net, that’s my mindset. Luckily, the bounces were going my way.”
Gedny says the team was firing on all cylinders after their recent 2-1 loss to Fernie at the start of December.
“All the guys in the room were kind of wanting to redeem ourselves for the last few games with playing a full 60 minutes of Nitros hockey,” Gedny says. “I think we did that or close to that. It feels pretty good.”
Fernie also earned two wins this weekend, shutting out Spokane 6-nothing Friday before winning 5-2 over Golden Saturday.
The Columbia Valley Rockies only game was a 9-2 loss to Nelson Saturday.
