The Kootenay ICE’s two newest members say they’re adjusting nicely with their new team.
Forward Austin Schellenberg arrived via trade from the Red Deer Rebels November 30th along with River Fahey.
The blockbuster deal also saw the ICE acquire forwards Justin Svenson and Chase Bertholet.
The ICE also received 5 draft picks including a first round selection in 2019’s draft.
Red Deer picked up forwards Cam Hausinger and Brett Davis.
Schellenberg says he’s meshing nicely with his new team.
“I think it’s been good, the guys are really good to me and we’ve been playing hard here the past few games. It’s been good.”
Schellenberg and Fahey have dressed for five games for Kootenay since the trade.
Fahey has manged to pick up an assist during that span.
Fahey says he’s seeing a lot more ice-time these days.
“It’s really good, getting a lot more ice-time here and the guys are great, it’s all coming together.
Both will be with the team as they are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Kamloops Blazers where they’ll try to snap a 12 game winless streak.
