A fresh snowfall in Kimberley lead to the quick arrest of a drunk man.
RCMP received a call at 3:34 am Tuesday morning that a subject was believed to be breaking into a house. He was trying to open the door and banging on the side of the house.
An officer and a police dog were dispatched. The officer was on the scene in a few minutes and noted fresh tracks in the snow. He followed the tracks which wandered aimlessly for several blocks. The subject was located and taken into custody.
The wet, cold, intoxicated man had trouble determining which house was his. It’s believed the subject resided on the next block over.
Although they may have found his house, the officer felt the subject should be lodged in a warm cell to ensure his safety. He will be released once he is able to care for himself.
